Anna,

I am still down, though tired and restless I am physically fine but mentally disturbed and depressed. For past two nights I haven't had proper sleep, instead having nightmares!

Ever since this ordeal began I have begun to read a lot about Racism, Prejudice, Discrimination and such diversity related aspects not only related to workplace but in the historical context. Though I am well read and familiar on these topics reading them once again is causing lot of turbulence. May be they are the cause for nightmares. For example last night I had this nightmare about some doctor treating me for "Drapetomania" with my hands and legs tied up. I had read about it last weekend as follows ( It's on this web site http://www.bluecorncomics.com/blaming.htm )

Indeed, what better evidence of white denial (even dementia)
could one need than that provided by "Doctor" Samuel Cartwright, a
well-respected physician of the 19th century, who was so convinced of slavery's
benign nature, that he concocted and named a disease to explain the tendency for
many slaves to run away from their loving masters. Drapetomania, he called it: a
malady that could be cured by keeping the slave in a "child-like state," and
taking care not to treat them as equals, while yet striving not to be too cruel.
Mild whipping was, to Cartwright, the best cure of all. So there you have it:
not only is racial oppression not a problem; even worse, those blacks who resist
it, or refuse to bend to it, or complain about it in any fashion, are to be
viewed not only as exaggerating their condition, but indeed, as mentally ill
(17).

I do not know what to make out of all this. I will call the counselling services offered by the firm ( EAP ), this is the first time in my life I will be exploring this path. Do not know how much it will help. I will try to see a psychologist through my doctor.

On the work front I saw few mails, did not open several of them. KDP was excellent. I will proabably rest this week and hope to be better by Monday.

regards,
BrownMan,
